Bone Density Scan

Bone Density Scan

Bone density scanning is used to measure bone loss. It serves a key role in the evaluation of osteoporosis and bone fracture risk assessment.

A bone density scan tells a doctor about the content of minerals such as calcium in your bones, so they can proactively identify lifestyle changes that will help you improve bone strength, and minimize bone loss as you age.

A bone density scan is usually quick and may focus on a single bone or body part. Depending on what your doctor is looking for, it may take the form of a full-body scan. Bone density examinations are performed at our West Vancouver clinic, and are available by referral only.
